Homage to Cassavetes

I was 13 when I saw the movie “Husbands.” I didn’t know who Cassavetes was; I just liked the movie. I liked Peter Falk. I liked Ben Gazarra. The third guy was Cassavetes. But I didn’t know him. He wasn’t on “Columbo” or “Run for Your Life” or any of the other TV shows I watched. A long time later, I figured it out. Mostly because I worked with people who knew him. I heard the stories. A few years after Cassavetes died, I worked with one of his best friends. Another John (John Roselius). We worked together to create something John Cassavettes might have liked. It was presented to Gena Rowlands as part of a retrospective of Cassavettes' work at University of Virginia.
